SEEDLESS GRAPES

The seedless grape is 100% natural and arises from the non-development of the embryo in some varieties. Its production has a secular origin and was highly appreciated by Turkish emperors. The first varieties of seedless grapes appeared naturally in the Region of Mesopotamia, being the most popular known as Sultana or Sultanina. For being a type of low-caliber grape, it was only in the 19th century that it was possible (through the pure crossing of grape varieties) to increase its size and develop its commercial value. Despite this, the seedless grape was already consumed dry, in the form of raisins.
